Linear Rod Lubricant 10ml is a PTFE film for moving axes, not a general-purpose workshop grease. Use the gold lead-screw grease only on trapezoidal Z screws. Use the linear-rod lubricant only on smooth steel rods.
Wipe old paste off first. A rice-grain amount in the thread valleys or along the rod is enough. Jog the axis so the nut or bearing spreads it, then wipe anything that would sling toward the bed.
Relubricate when the axis squeaks, ticks on Z hops, or feels grabby — often every one to three months for hobby use. Stacking fresh grease on blackened paste makes it gritty.
How to use Linear Rod Lubricant 10ml: clean old paste with IPA, apply a rice-grain amount, jog the axis ten to fifteen times, and wipe excess. Do not put lead-screw grease on smooth rods, and do not put rod lubricant on a trapezoidal Z screw.

Can I put this on the Z lead screw?
No. Linear Rod Lubricant is a thinner PTFE film for smooth steel rods on X, Y, or Z. The thick gold lead-screw grease is a different product. Mixing them up is the most common mistake — check the label before you squeeze.
How do I apply linear rod lubricant?
Wipe the rod clean of dust and old oil. Dispense a few micro-drops along the rod from the syringe, then slide the bearing or bushing the full travel so the film spreads. Wipe drips. A little is enough; a wet rod collects dust.
How often should I lube the rods?
When the axis sounds sandy, binds, or after a dusty month in an open workshop. Many printers only need a light pass every month or two. Clean first if the old film looks grey.
Which printers use linear rods?
Many FDM machines use smooth rods on X/Y or Z, including Bambu Lab A1 and A1 Mini, Creality, Elegoo, Prusa-style machines, and others. If your printer uses linear rails instead of round rods, do not treat this as rail grease unless your manufacturer says a similar film is fine.
What is the difference vs lead screw lubricant?

Technosynthese label sounded fancy; in use it is just a controlled PTFE film. Binding on Y when the printer was cold in the morning is better.

H2S still has rods in places people forget. A film here reduced a faint rattle I thought was a fan. Turned out the rod was dry. Wiped the dust, one micro-drop, cloth, jog. Same method as the Creality, just harder to reach. This is why a syringe beats tipping a bottle inside a crowded frame when you only want a film. Check the rods before you replace a fan next time. Crowded frames need a syringe more than they need another bottle.

Grabbed this thinking it was Z-screw grease because both listings say PTFE and syringe. It is explicitly not for lead screws. Had to order the gold one after. The rod lube itself is fine once you use it on rods — instructions on the wrap could be larger. Pink listing art should maybe say RODS ONLY in the first thumbnail so this mix-up happens less. I used it correctly the second day and the X rods quieted down. Read the wrap twice next order.

Prusa-style XY rods took a wipe and a thin coat. Motion is smoother at the ends where it used to hesitate. Wish the syringe tip were a few millimetres longer for rods tucked behind a belt idler.

Ordered this after mixing up the two Proevove lubes last time. Pink listing, 10ml syringe, black plunger, PTFE Technosynthese for linear rods only. X and Y on the Ender feel less sandy after a micro-drop each side. Wiped the old dust first so the film could sit on the metal, then jogged the axes instead of pouring from a bottle. Binding at the end of X travel is gone and I did not soak the belts or the printed parts. Correct product this time.

Pink film stays on the X rod after a week of A1 Mini travel, which is what I wanted. Only knock is the plunger is stubborn when the room is AC-cold, so I warm the syringe in a pocket first. Tiny dose, wipe the excess, rods no longer sound sandy.

How-to print is too small
Lube works on the smooth rods, but the how-to on the wrap is tiny. Put a bit too much on the first rod and had to degrease. Bigger instruction print would save first-time users.
